Muttahida Muslim League formed


KARACHI: Four factions of Muslim League agreed on Friday to form a new league, Muttahida Muslim League; sources said that Pir Pagara, chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, is to lead this new league.



Pir Pagara, after holding the meeting at his residence, Kingri House, confirmed with media persons that leaders of different factions of Muslim League agreed to form the new party.



“I am happy to see the formation of the Muttahida Muslim League,” Pir Pagara said.



He said that other factions of Muslim League would also be contacted to come under the umbrella, including the Sharif and Chaudhry brothers.



He said that the new party will form the government after winning general elections in the country.



Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Mian Mohammad Azhar, Hamid Nasir Chattha, Saleem Saifullah Khan, Humayon Akhtar, Ejaz-ul-Haq, Sheikh Rasheed, Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and others attended the meeting.
