Punjab govt. sacks high paid officials

LAHORE: Taking notice of SAMAA's report, the Government of Punjab on Tuesday sacked several high paid officials and terminated 15 different projects.

On September 17, SAMAA aired a detailed report about the appointments of several men on hefty packages in approximately 34 projects.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, taking notice of the report, directed Chief Secretary Nasir Khosa to review all the projects.

As a result, a high level committee headed by the Chief Secretary issued a notification, cancelling 15 projects and sacking many officials.

The cancelled projects were related to law, anti-corruption, finance, IT and S&DAG departments. Those sacked by the provincial government include Ahsan Chughtai, Farogh Aftab, Rashid Mahmood, Khalid Sher Dil and Najam Shah
