Malik vows to quell Karachi unrest

KARACHI: Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, has said that he will get a daily report on targeted killings and other crimes.

Briefing the media after chairing a high-level meeting today, he said the government would take action everywhere on the basis of received information.

He said the government would not let anyone to destroy the city’s peace.

The Interior Minister also praised the good show of police despite killings of around 90 people in five days.

He said the police and rangers are conducting a joint operation to quell the unrest.

Speaking on this occasion, Sindh Home Minister, Zulfiqar Mirza, said 195 people have been arrested after the recent incidents of targeted killings.
