Flood devastates 10 villages in Khairpur

SUKKUR: Water levels continue to surge in Guddu and Sukkur Barrages as the Meteorological Department issued a fresh flood warning for Sindh on Thursday.

According to the Irrigation Department, 962,468 cusecs of floodwater is currently passing through Guddu Barrage. However, more water is likely to enter the barrage.

Similarly, 400,710 cusecs are passing through Sukkur. If the floodwater continues to rise in Sukkur, it could devastate the widespread areas of Rohri, Panu Aqil and Saleh Patt.

The floodwater has already destroyed several villages of Kashmore.

Meanwhile, the government has put rangers, army, navy, revenue department and all other concerned departments on high alert in the wake of the flood warning.

People are being shifted to safe areas.
