Sindh, Punjab agree to resolve water issue amicably

ISLAMABAD: The chief ministers of Sindh and Punjab have agreed to solve the water issue rationally and peacefully, said sources Tuesday.

The two chief ministers talked in detail about the distribution of water between the two provinces and the Chashma-Jhelum link canal, at the meeting held in the prime minister house in Islamabad today.

Both ministers agreed to solving the problem amicably.

The meeting wad also attended by the senior advisor to Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, senior provincial minister Raja Riaz, Sindh minister for Irrigation Syed Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Minister for Food Nadir Magsi.

Torrential rains hit parts of Balochistan, Sindh

QUETTA: The spell of heavy continue lashing southern Sindh, upper Sindh, Sukkur division, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw and Kohlu, Barkhan and Naseerabad in eastern Balochistan.

Met office predicted heavy rains in eastern Balochistan and parts of Sindh during next 24 hours.

The maximum rain recorded in last 24 hours was Bhakkar 58 mm, Kohat 53 mm,Rahim Yar Khan 46 mm, Jhang 45 mm, Parachinar 30 mm, Dera Ghazi Khan 28 mm. The current rain spell will continue in next two days, met office said.
