Nawaz wanted to sell Kashmir issue, alleges Musharraf

MANCHESTER: All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief Pervez Musharraf has alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif wanted to sell the Kashmir issue.

Addressing the APML rally participants in Manchester today, Musharraf said that he was close to framing an agreement for the solution of Kashmir.

He said that Manmohan Singh had agreed on a four-point plan to resolve the issue. Musharraf added that he was not ashamed of the remarks he made against Nawaz, in which he sarcastically called him a “clear-headed” man.

Musharraf challenged Nawaz to present the word ‘Kashmir’ in the talks held between Nawaz and former Indian premier Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the time when Nawaz was the country’s PM. He added that he was the one who kept the Kashmir issue alive.

Meanwhile, hundreds of PML-N activists protested against Musharraf in Manchester and marred the political convention of the newly formed APML. Those who raised slogans had been expelled from the gathering, and Musharraf said that the miscreants had been paid to create a disturbance. He added that the protests would not deter him from his path.

The PML-N protesters to expressed their anger at Musharraf with placards and banners in their hands. The protesters also beat Musharraf’s portraits with shoes and shouted slogans against him.

PML-N England Chapter President Zubair Gul said that Musharraf had betrayed the Kashmiris and that he should be tried for high treason.

Reacting to the protests, which occurred during the address, Musharraf reacted to it by saying that he would not deter from his aims. He said that the miscreants had been paid for marring the whole convention, but he was least bothered. Nawaz Sharif should not react emotionally; it’s just the start of the game, he added.

Also, Musharraf maintained that there was no woman in the Lal Mosque at the time of the military operation. He also repeated his comments about Dr Aafia Siddiqui, which he had made a few days ago that he did not have any idea about her, adding that he came to know about her through various newspapers.

He again held the Chaudhry brothers responsible for the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

Talking about Talal Bugti’s statements, he said that he challenged Bugti to come and look him in the eyes, the channel reported
