Sialkot: Judicial report reveals slain brothers were not robbers

ISLAMABAD: Two teenage brothers who were tortured to death by a mob in Sialkot on August 15 were not robbers, reveals a report submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday.

The report was formulated by former judge of Lahore High Court, Justice (retd.) Kazim Ali Malik and presented to a three-member bench of the apex court today.

It said that Sialkot police failed to perform its professional duty.

The report said that no evidence was found about the involvement of slain brothers in any robbery attempt or other criminal activities.

All policemen, including officials, played a role in the merciless murder of Hafiz Mugheez and Muneeb. They either behaved like spectators or provoked the mob
