Fazl sees plot to fan sectarian riots in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has alleged that Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are doing politics on the dead bodies of Pakhtuns and Mohajirs.

Interacting with media persons here on Friday, he said the MQM has pushed back the religious powers. The Army too is raising fingers at the statement of Altaf Hussain, he said.

To a question, Rehman said his party is trying to revive the MMA, a political alliance of religious parties, despite being part of the coalition government.

“The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) wanted us to quit the government for the revival of MMA,” he said, adding that the demand has now been withdrawn.

The JUI-F chief noted that attempts are being made to fan sectarian riots in the country.

He commented that continuation of policies of the past was worsening the law and order situation
