Bail plea of lynching DPO adjourned

SIALKOT: An Anti-Terrorist Court in Gujranwala has adjourned the bail plea of former DPO Waqar Chauhan who was arrested in the Sialkot lynching case, SAMAA learnt Thursday.

The bail plea of the former DPO has been adjourned till September 25, for the third time as the police failed to present his chalan and record.

The court has also issued a show-cause notice to SHO Saddar, Sialkot, and called him on the next hearing.

On August 15, teenage brothers, Hafiz Mugheez and Muneeb, were mercilessly beaten and then hanged by a mob in the presence of police officials and Rescue 1122 personnel in Buttar village on the outskirts of Sialkot.
