SHC declares Musharraf proclaimed offender

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Tuesday has declared former president Pervez Musharraf a proclaimed offender.

Earlier, Advocate Maulvi Iqbal Haider has appealed to file conspiracy petition against Musharraf.

Later, Iqbal Haider filed another petition when the Musharraf and his lawyer was not appear in court despite of several notices issued by the court.

Maulive Iqbal Haider, in his second petition requested the Pakistani courts to assist him in publishing advertisement in British newspapers but when he did not get any assistance he stated with a view that he could not afford the fees of British newspapers so the Musharraf should be declared proclaimed offender in Pakistan.

However, the Chief Justice SHC Sarmad Jalal Osmany, on the request of Advocate Maulvi Iqbal Haider, declared former president Pervez Musharraf proclaimed offender
