All educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universitiesin the city would remain closed on Tuesday in the wake of the law and order situation follwing the murder of Syed Raza Haider, Member Sindh Assembly from Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Monday evening.
The incident triggered intense fear and panic in the city. The public and private sector educational institutions had officially re-opened on Monday after two-month summer vacation, however, most of the private sector schools were still observing summer vacations.
Parents of school-going children as well as the college and university students have developed serious concern in the wake of recent spate of target killings.
The authorities are likely to extend the closure of educational instuitions if the situation did not improve. Meanwhile, the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology (FUUAST) has cancelled the BA (External) paper that was to be held on Tuesday (today). The new date will be announced later
