The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has finalised the project of construction of a flyover at the Korangi Crossing. The PC-1 of the project has already been prepared. Construction work will start in the current financial year with an estimated cost of Rs280 million.
This was stated by Administrator Karachi, Fazlur Rehman during a visit of the city on Sunday. He was accompanied by Executive District Officer (EDO) Works & Services and EDO Municipal Services.
The administrator during this visit went to various towns including Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Gulberg, Gulshan, Lyari and Saddar, where he also inspected the rain emergency centres established by the towns.
During his visit to Landhi and Korangi Town, the administrator said that the construction of flyover at Korangi Crossing would solve the traffic problems of these areas. He said that the city government was also conducting the survey for construction of roads alongside major drains so that the main sources of storm water drainage could be kept cleaned and de-silted.
